HEA Firebirds Soccer

WELCOME TO FIREBIRD SOCCER

Firebird Soccer is where teamwork, dedication, and faith come together on the field. Our program provides homeschool athletes the opportunity to develop skill, agility, and strategic thinking while learning to honor God in every pass, goal, and play.

Whether your athlete is just starting out or played before, Firebird Soccer emphasizes sportsmanship, perseverance, and integrity. Players grow not only as athletes but as leaders, learning to encourage teammates, overcome challenges, and demonstrate Christ-like character both on and off the field.

SEASONS

Boys: August through October

Girls: March through May

ELIGIBILITY

Girls Soccer is open to homeschool athletes that are 14 years old and older by September 1st, 2025.
If your athlete is 13 years old by September 1st, 2025 and interested in playing soccer, please reach out to Matt James-Soccer Coordinator (matt@heafirebirds.org) to explore your options. Boys Soccer ages range based on team. For JH the range is 10-13, and for High School players can be 14-18 as long as their 18th birthday is before September 1 of that year. *Depending on the number of players High School may or may not be split into JV/Varsity or just one combined team.

Practice & Game Info:

PRACTICE

Each season’s practices have 2 phases. The first 2 to 3 weeks of the season is dedicated to conditioning/teambuilding or skill building and they are 4 days per week. After the first phase, games begin and there is a mixture of practices and games each week, with some weeks having more or less practices/games depending on scheduling needs. JH fall soccer is usually 3 days/week commitment. HS Soccer is 3 to 4 days per week commitment.

GAMES

We play during the season against other homeschool programs and local school teams, mostly private schools.  It is a competitive season and play time is not guaranteed.   You can expect to have a couple games a week.  Players will be expected to arrive 30 minutes early for all games to provide ample warmup time.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS

Firebird Soccer is a volunteer-run organization, including all coaches, directors, and admins.  With that said, we cannot run without additional volunteers!  All Firebird Soccer families are asked to volunteer in some capacity throughout the season.  Discussion and expectations regarding volunteering will happen at the Parent Meeting at the start of the season with a sign-up being sent out shortly after. Some examples of volunteer positions are team photographer, fundraiser, banquet coordinator, spirit night coordinator, and more.

SPORTSMANSHIP

All players and parents are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner on and off the field. When attending sporting events, you are representing your team, the Firebird organization, and most importantly Christ. Poor sportsmanship on or off the field will not be tolerated.
