HEA Firebirds Golf
WELCOME TO FIREBIRD GOLF
Firebird Golf encourages athletes to pursue excellence with every swing, while staying grounded in humility and faith. Designed for homeschool athletes our program blends strong fundamentals, thoughtful strategy, and Christ-centered mentorship — helping players grow both on the course and in their character.
Golf challenges athletes in powerful ways: patience, focus, integrity, and resilience. At Firebirds we embrace those challenges as opportunities to reflect Christ-like attitudes and sportsmanship. From driving range development to competitive play, we walk the fairway together — striving to honor God with our efforts, our decisions, and our relationships.
Firebirds Varsity Golf is Almost Here! Come join the defending 2025 State Champion HEA Firebirds Varsity Golf team, led by returning 2025 Homeschool Golfer of the Year, Senior Justin Rebandt. Coach Jason Rauhe led the team to the organizations first ever State Championship. When asked what he was looking most forward to this season, Coach Rauhe answered by saying, "Defending the State title while seeing players from last year grow into new roles and welcoming the new players that join and help us get there. I can't wait to get back out on the course!"

Practice & Game Info:
PRACTICE
Practice is held for 1 ½ to 2 hours, twice a week during both seasons. Practices times and locations fluctuate from year to year but are generally in Wixom area. Once matches get underway practices will only be held at the coach’s discretion during weeks with few games.
MATCHES
We play during the season against other homeschool programs and local school teams, mostly private schools. It is a competitive season and play time is not guaranteed. You can expect to have a couple games a week. Players will be expected to arrive 45-60 minutes early for all match to provide ample warmup time.
TOURNAMENTS
HEA Participates is about 5 or 6 tournaments with public and private schools, as well as approximately 5 other matches with homeschool organizations culminating in the end of the year Varsity Homeschool State Championships.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS
Firebird Soccer is a volunteer-run organization, including all coaches, directors, and admins. With that said, we cannot run without additional volunteers! All Firebird Golf families are asked to volunteer in some capacity throughout the season. A sign-up will be sent out closer to the start of the season for you to sign-up for a volunteer position. Some examples of volunteer positions are team manager, team photographer, fundraiser, end-of-year program coordinator, potluck coordinator, spirit wear coordinator, uniform coordinator, first aid kit organizer, tournament coordinator, and more.
